One ONDA Session in Korea: Travel, Photos and Timing

One ONDA session can be enough; if there is more fat, I recommend repeating it up to 3 times. If you are already traveling to Korea, one ONDA session can fit into the trip. If you would fly in only for this treatment, I think that is too much to build a trip around. You can return to daily activities immediately afterward, but that only describes recovery. It does not mean that photos taken that day show the final contour.

Watch out: Shopping that day does not mean the final result is visible that day

Being able to return directly to daily activities after ONDA microwave treatment means that recovery is easier to plan. It does not mean that the contour has settled when the session ends, and a selfie taken that day cannot show the final amount of change. If your itinerary includes photos or events, you can keep those plans, but separate the question of whether you can go out from when you should assess the result.

Whether one session is worthwhile depends first on whether you were already traveling to Korea

If the entire trip to Korea is only for one ONDA session, I would say there is no need to force it. Flights, accommodation and travel time are additional commitments, all placed on one treatment. That is not the approach I would recommend first.

If you were already traveling to Korea, the judgment is different. In my experience, one ONDA session is enough to see an effect. If there is more fat, I recommend repeating it up to 3 times, but that does not make one session worthless. If you want to improve facial definition and contour while traveling, one session can become part of your existing itinerary. This is my advice about planning a trip; it does not mean that every area and every face will change to the same degree after one session.

How to plan activities and photos on the same day

Facial ONDA treatment at our clinic takes about 20–30 minutes, requires no numbing cream and allows an immediate return to daily activities, though temporary redness or swelling can occur. If you planned to eat out, shop or take ordinary travel photos that day, you usually do not need to leave the entire day open for the treatment.

But if those photos are how you intend to judge the result, do not rely only on photos from that day. Quick recovery means that daily activities are less burdensome. It does not mean that the jawline or facial contour has completed its change. For an important photo shoot where you cannot accept any temporary skin changes, you can take the photos first and have the treatment afterward. This is a choice about itinerary risk, not a sign that ONDA requires a long recovery.

Do not set a fixed cutoff date for changes after one session

For practical observation, take front and side photos before treatment. After any immediate reactions have settled, compare changes over the following weeks using the same angle, lighting and expression. Photos from the treatment day are useful for recording the starting point, but not as the final answer.

One available clinical study used two sessions 30 days apart and assessed outcomes 12 weeks after the final session. It shows that the researchers did not assess only the immediate result. It does not prove that one session will produce the same result at week 12, and it cannot set a fixed degree of improvement or final assessment day for one session.

When only one session is planned during a trip to Korea, I keep the answer within what can be stated: you can return to daily activities that day, and one session is still worth observing. How much change occurs and when it is most visible need to be compared after acute reactions settle. They cannot be promised in advance with one date.

If you can only have one session on this trip and are also concerned about sagging around the jowls or jawline, see whether ONDA and Ultherapy can be done together and assess both on the same day. If your concern is lower-face fat, continue with whether cheek fat should be preserved. For an overview, see the ONDA microwave guide. Options and fees are listed on our price list.

Published research used two sessions and assessed outcomes after the final session. It cannot be rewritten as a fixed result date or degree of improvement for one session.
