First decide what kind of change you mean by “effective”
When planning only one Rejuran session, I first ask what you most want to improve: dryness and glow, fine lines and elasticity, or pores. These goals should not share one answer of “it works” or “it does not.”
In the cases I have seen, people with dry skin can see dryness and glow improve relatively soon even after one session. This is about dry skin. One session may not achieve the goals for fine lines, elasticity and pores at the same time.
If fine lines or elasticity are the main concern, I do not promise in advance that one session will be enough. Feeling more hydrated after one session also does not show that fine lines or skin elasticity have improved to the same degree. For pores, sort out the cause first; see how to assess Rejuran for pores.
Where one session sits in a usual course
At our clinic, Rejuran is usually given once every 2–3 weeks for 3–4 sessions at first, and the next step is then decided by skin condition; the number varies by person. If you can only fit in one session, for example because this trip is short, that is just the first session of such a course.
So the most practical approach when having only one session is to choose one main goal first. If dryness and lack of glow are the priority, one session is worth observing. If the main concern is fine lines or elasticity, do not apply the single-session experience of dry skin directly to it.
Reactions immediately after the injections are not the onset of results
Small bumps may appear at the injection sites after Rejuran, and temporary swelling may also occur. The bumps often settle that evening, but may last three to four days when they take longer. These are acute reactions to the injections, rather than proof that the skin has already improved.
To observe changes from one session, first wait for these reactions to settle, then compare dryness and glow with how the skin felt and looked before treatment.
Session count and treatment coverage are separate questions
“Only one session” describes the number of sessions. It does not state how much product is used or which areas are injected. Whether to focus on one area or cover the whole face this time is covered in the treatment coverage of 2 cc of Rejuran.
