Thermage FLX is a tightening treatment that sends monopolar radiofrequency into the dermis so that the collagen is heated and remodeled: collagen fibers contract and tighten when heated, and new collagen then grows in slowly, starting to show at 2–3 months after treatment and fully in place at about 6 months. At our clinic, we don’t sell you a preset number of shots. A full face comes in three sizes, 300, 600 or 900 shots, with the eye area counted separately, and the choice is made only after the doctor has seen your face and confirmed which layer the problem is in; the same doctor handles the consultation, the treatment design and the treatment itself. It suits people whose skin still has firmness and whose contours are only starting to loosen. If the laxity has already sagged down to a visible droop, tightening the dermis alone cannot bring it back; we will explain this at the in-person consultation and switch to a direction that works on another layer, such as HIFU (ultrasound).

How we do it hereThermage

Thermage FLX
Thermage FLX
1
At the consultation, the doctor first looks at how firm your face is and at the fine lines around your eyes, and works out which layer the problem is in.
2
The number of shots depends on how far the laxity extends and what your eye area needs: 300 shots concentrate on a specific area, a full face is usually 600 shots or more, and 900 shots adds emphasis on key areas; the eye area is counted separately.
3
On the day, the visit takes about 60–90 minutes including numbing cream. The skin is cooled as each shot is delivered and the heat comes in stages, so most people find it tolerable.

Ultherapy or Thermage? How to Choose in Korea

If what bothers you most is jowls, sagging-type nasolabial folds and a contour that is dropping, I usually choose Ultherapy first. If it is laxity of the skin itself, fine lines and texture, I choose Thermage FLX first. The two overlap in effect, but the priority differs. Hollow nasolabial folds or hollow cheeks call for a separate discussion about restoring volume.

2026 HIFU vs RF: The Difference Between Ultherapy and Thermage

HIFU and RF mainly differ in their form of energy and heating pattern. Ultherapy uses focused ultrasound to create individual thermal coagulation points at selected depths, while Thermage FLX uses monopolar radiofrequency to heat a larger volume of tissue. The tissues they affect overlap, so they cannot be divided simply into HIFU for the SMAS and RF for the dermis.

2026 Thermage Clinic in Seoul: Four Things to Check Before Booking

When looking for a Thermage clinic in Korea, don't rely on a list of names. Four things can be checked before you book — whether the device and tip can be verified through the official Solta Korea process, whether the tip is opened in front of you before treatment, whether prices are published so you can work out the total including VAT, and whether you can communicate in Chinese. Once those four are clear, ask the doctor at the consultation why the treatment suits your concern and how each area will be planned.

Genuine or Fake Thermage FLX in Korea: Device, Tip and Solta Check

To verify genuine fourth-generation Thermage in Korea, use two steps. At the clinic, check that the device is marked Thermage FLX and inspect the genuine tip packaging together before it is opened. After treatment, use the 6- or 12-digit authentication number you receive, or follow the mobile QR process, on the official Solta Korea verification page. This is the Korean verification process and should not be assumed to match another country's system. A successful result applies only to that tip or code. It does not mean the treatment has no risk or predict the outcome.

2026 Does Thermage Hurt? Where It Hurts and How to Reduce Pain

It does hurt. I have had Thermage myself, and the most painful areas were close to bone — the cheekbones, the back of the jaw and the jaw angle. Those spots hurt because they are close to bone, not because the effect is better there. For Thermage we apply numbing cream, which is not charged separately, and we do not use local anesthetic injections; if you are still worried, Airnox can be discussed in advance and is charged separately. If one spot hurts particularly during treatment, tell me where — I adjust the intensity and spread the energy area by area rather than lowering the energy across the whole face.

2026 Thermage Results in Korea: When Visible, How Long They Last

Thermage results mainly make the skin look firmer and smoother, with possible improvements in fine lines and contours. It does not replace lost volume or fully lift marked sagging. The manufacturer states that measurable changes gradually appear 2–6 months after one treatment for most people and may last 1–2 years, but this varies with the original skin condition and the rate of aging.

2026 Ultherapy and Thermage Together: Can You Do Both Same Day?

Ultherapy and Thermage can usually be performed together on the same day, and our clinic generally schedules them in the same visit. Not everyone needs both devices. They are combined only when downward contours and loose skin are both clear concerns and each device has its own goal. If there is only one main concern, start with the corresponding treatment. A short stay in Korea does not require a fixed interval; the director decides the timing, areas and energy after an in-person consultation.
